Lancaster Man Injured in Crash on Dubuque Bridge

 Crash on Dubuque Bridge 

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 5:18 AM, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a crash in the southbound lanes of Hwy 151 on the Dubuque bridge. Along with law enforcement from the Grant County Sheriff's Office and Dubuque Police Department, first responders from the Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown First Responders, Dickeyville EMS were dispatched to the scene. 

When law enforcement arrived on scene, they learned Gerald Hauck, (50), of Lancaster, was traveling south in a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu when he attempted to pass a vehicle. Hauck lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the concrete traffic barrier. As a result of the crash, traffic was reduced to one southbound lane until the scene was cleared.  

Hauck was transported by Dickeyville EMS to a hospital in Dubuque for treatment of possible injuries.  

Assisting the Sheriff's office at the scene were the Dubuque Police Department, Jamestown First Responders, Jamestown Fire Department and Dickeyville EMS.  

Hauck was cited for fail to maintain control of vehicle.
