A Castalia man was charged in connection with a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 61-year old Dean Daryl Sampson was charged with Failure to Yield to Vehicle on Right. The accident occurred on June 8th at 8:02am on Highway 52 and 150th Avenue. Sampson was operating a 2018 Ram 1500 attempting to turn west. Sampson stated he saw a semi but did not see a second semi operated by 70-year old Kenneth Donald Boeding of New Hampton. The Sampson vehicle hit the rear tire of the trailer. No injuries were reported and damage totaled six-thousand dollars.
