(Dubuque, IA) -- Late Tuesday night, 47-year-old David Miller of Dubuque was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 20. Dubuque Police responded to the scene at the 3100 block of Highway 20 after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car. Despite efforts to save him, Miller succumbed to significant head trauma. The driver, identified as 53-year-old Charles Calkins from East Dubuque, Illinois, remained at the scene. The investigation concluded that Miller entered the roadway as Calkins was traveling eastbound. No charges are being filed against Calkins, and Miller's body will undergo an autopsy at the State Medical Examiner's Office.
