Postville School Board approves adding additional positions next school year

The Postville School Board approved additional positions for the 26-27 School year. They include a 6th Grade Teacher, Curriculum/Preschool Director and a new Full-Time Custodian.

The Board approved a sharing agreement with North Fayette/Valley for Special Educational Services.

The Board also approved a fire alarm system upgrade for the elementary building for nearly 70-thousand dollars.


The meeting was called to order by President Koenig at 5:30 pm.

a. Superintendent 

i. General Updates 

Mr. Knudtson invited the board members and visitors to tour the new construction projects at the conclusion of the board meeting. Final steps are being taken to complete the projects. Several speech events and the Jr Hi Drama are coming up. Second semester has started, and plans for 2026-2027 are beginning. 

b. Principals 

Mrs. Hertges shared that there will be a virtual author visit this month, and all elementary kids will receive a book. Testing season is beginning.
