Prairie du Chien City Council to accept bids on Illinois Street Improvement Project.

The Prairie du Chien City Council authorized going out for bids for the estimated 1.9-million dollar Illinois Street Improvement Project. Bids will be due by January 28th and will be awarded on February 17th. The project is being funded by a one-million dollar Community Development Block Grant and a 309-thousand dollar grant from the DNR. The remaining 600-thousand will be financed by low-interest loans from the Safe Water and Clean Water programs.

The Council approved putting bids out for the estimated 2.1-million dollar Well #5 project. The City received a grant from the DNR to pay for half the cost of the project. The remaining half will be financed with low-interest loans from the Safe Water and Drinking program.
