Incident/Charge: Several Felony Charges & Search Warrants
Location: Washington Street, Decorah, Iowa
Person: Amber Snow
Address: Decorah, Iowa
Age: 36
Incident Details: In January 2026, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office was contacted regarding a family size pan of lasagna that had allegedly been laced with a controlled substance. The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Decorah Police Department, and the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office, initiated an investigation. Following a lengthy investigation and several search warrants, Amber Dena Snow and another subject were identified as co-conspirators who laced the lasagna with a controlled substance. Both defendants spoke with law enforcement regarding the lasagna and its contents. The investigation identified electronic communications and search history on the defendants' accounts and phones from before and after the lasagna was prepared and delivered to another family on December 28, 2025. During the investigation, it was determined that delivery of the tainted lasagna was intended to cause a miscarriage to a pregnancy of a woman in the family that received the lasagna. The pregnant woman had no knowledge or consent of this.
The lasagna was submitted to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory, where testing confirmed the presence of oxycodone, a Schedule II narcotic analgesic and controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act.
As a result of the investigation, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office filed charges and arrest warrants were issued. On March 10, 2026, Amber Dena Snow was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail and charged with:
Class C Felony Deliver a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone)
Class D Felony - Intentionally Terminate a Human Pregnancy Without the Knowledge and Voluntary Consent of the Pregnant Person
Aggravated misdemeanor child endangerment, for knowingly acting in a manner that created a substantial risk to a child or minor's physical, mental, or emotional health or safety

Two counts of Class D Felony administering a harmful substance to a juvenile
Amber Dena Snow is being held in the Winneshiek County Jail on a $100,000.00 cash bond. This case remains under investigation and with additional charges and arrests imminent.
