Wanted Arrest in Hawkeye leads to Arrests for Possession of Meth and Other Charges

On 9-10-26, at approximately 10:30 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office took information of a wanted subject staying at 340 Pearl St. in Hawkeye IA.  Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies confirmed the information and made contact with the wanted subject identified as Jermaine Whittney Dawson, 45 of Burlington IA.  Dawson was actively using controlled substances when Deputies made contact with him.  Dawson was arrested on the Lee County Warrant for Probation Violation, an original charge of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Bond $5,000.  While taking Dawson into custody, illegal items were observed in plain view, and a search warrant was applied for, granted and executed.  During a search of the home, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and paraphernalia items were found and seized.  Dawson was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance  3rd Offense Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Offense Marijuana Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used Methamphetamine, all Class D Felonies and Gathering where Controlled Substances are Used-Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia both misdemeanors.   Also arrested, Jessica Lees, 41 of Hawkeye.  Lees was charged with Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used-Methamphetamine, a Class D Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine 2nd Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana 2nd Offense both aggravated Misdemeanors, Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used-Marijuana a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.  Dawson and Lee were taken into custody and transported to Fayettee County Jail, where they awaited initial appearance.
