West Union woman escapes injury in one-vehicle accident in Fayette County.

  On April 14th, 2025, at approximately 4:47 PM, The Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 automatic crash notification located at 9594 Harding Road, West Union, IA 52175. Upon Deputies' arrival, a vehicle was observed with its hazard lights on crashed into a cement fixture on the property of 9594 Harding Road. After further investigation, Laci Lauer, age 18 of West Union was driving her 2014 Ford Focus SE when she struck the cement fixture. The Ford Focus sustained approximately $5,000.00 in damages. No injuries were reported in this accident. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Gundersen Palmer EMS and the West Union Fire Department. The accident remains under investigation.
