Winneshiek County Authorities are seeking the public's assistance in locating a Decorah man

Today (4/13/26) around 9pm the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person and is seeking the public’s assistance.

James Paul Langholz was last seen around 3:30pm, Monday, April 13, 2026, at his residence, 2572 Golf View Road, Decorah, Iowa. Langholz is a 71-year-old, white male, about 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Langholz left his home around 3:30pm stating he was going outside to work. An extensive search was done throughout the area and the surrounding area this evening by law enforcement, fire crews, emergency management and EMS.

We are urging the public to call if they have seen anything or have any leads to Langholz’s whereabouts.
