Winneshiek County Authorities Release Information on Two Minor Accidents

A Fort Atkinson teen was charged in connection with a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 15-year old Braylon Neal Holthaus was charged with Unsafe Backing on Highway. The accident occurred on August 24th at 8am on 237th Avenue. Holthaus was operating a 2010 Buick Lucerne and was backing out of a driveway. Holthaus did not check to make sure the roadway was cleared and backed into a northbound 2019 Ford F-150 operated by 69-year old Rickey Nickolas Kuennen of Fort Atkinson. No injuries reported and both vehicles received minor damage.
An Ossian man was charged in connection with a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 68-year old Mark Leonard Schroeder was charged with Unsafe Backing on Highway. The accident occurred on August 24th at 12:16pm on 10th Avenue. Schroeder was operating a 2011 Dodge Ram and backed up to speak with an individual outside of the vehicle. Schroeder did not see a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by 66-year old Wilma Annette Meyer of Waucoma. Meyer was using her vehicle as a USPS delivery vehicle. Schroeder backed into the Meyer vehicle. No one was injured and both vehicles received minor damage
