Incident Details: In May 2025, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was asked to follow up on a complaint regarding Richard Hollenbeck. The investigation and interview showed that Hollenbeck printed documents and used Howard County property; said property having a value exceeding $300 but not exceeding $750. Richard Hollenbeck was charged with serious misdemeanor theft 4th degree. The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office.

Incident details: MICHAEL JEFFERSON was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on two arrest warrants for Violation Of Probation.
A Fort Atkinson man was charged in connection with a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. Authorities report that on May 10th at 3:17pm, 76-year old Larian Glenn Riha was operating a 1999 Yamaha Golf Cart coming off 2nd Street in Fort Atkinson. Riha failed to stop at the stop sign and turn left onto Highway 24. Riha pulled out in front of a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse operated by 53-year old Valerie Joan Horner of New Hampton. No one was injured and damage totaled 25-hundred dollars. Riha was charged with Failure to Yield Upon Entering Through Highway.
A Decorah man was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. Authorities report that 65-year old Michael Kent Nordheim was injured in the accident. Authorities report that on May 19th at 5:18pm, Nordheim was operating a 1989 Toyota Pickup northbound on Old State Road. 59-year old Ronnie Dean Schnuelle of Decorah was operating a 2010 Dodge Ram and pulled away from the stop sign and into the path of the Nordheim vehicle. Nordheim was taken to Winneshiek County Hospital for treatment of an ankle injury. Damage totaled 10-thousand dollars. Schnuelle was charged with Failure to Yield Upon Entering Through Highway.
