Winnshiek County Authorities Release Information on Two Separate Accidents and Warrant Arrest

A Decorah man was charged in connection with an accident that involved a Winneshiek County Roads Truck. 75-year old Rennard Brett Mumford was charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Reasonable and Proper Rate. The accident occurred on August 17th at 3:46pm on Locust Road. Mumford was operating a 2021 Subaru Forester when he approached a large cloud of dust and ran into the back of a Winneshiek County 2026 Western Star Road Truck operated by 24-year old George Wilkie Watson IV of Lawler. Mumford was evaluated for injuries at the scene but was not transported. Damage totaled 28-thousand dollars.
A Castalia man has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 28-year old Kolin Lee Schnuelle was charged with Failure to Yield Half of Roadway. The accident occurred on August 15th at 12:21pm on Hammer Road. Schnuelle was operating a 1998 Dodge Ram Pickup and cut the curve too sharp and side-swiped a 2024 Polaris UTV operated by 64-yearold Mari Lynn Martin of Castalia. No injuries reported and damage totaled eight-thousand dollars.
