Central School Board Accepts Resignation of Board Member

The Central School Board accepted the resignation of Jared Bormann from the Board. Bormann was elected back in November. The Board approved a resolution to appoint someone to fill the vacancy at the October 15th meeting. The term expires in November 2029.

Board Meeting 

President Josh Embretson called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. 

Board Present: Marcus Belser, Josh Embretson, Michael Whittle, Jared Funk, and Abby Heitman 

Board Absent: Andrew Clark 

Staff: Micah Gearhart, Aaron Reinhart, and Allison Walch 

Guests: Debbie Johnson 

Approved Agenda 

Marcus Belser made a motion to approve the agenda for September 23, 2026. Abby Heitman seconded. Motion carried. 5-0 

Acknowledgment of Board Member Resignation 

Board Secretary Walch was notified on September 19th that Board Member Bormann is resigning his position as Central Community School District Board 

Member, effective immediately. 

Resolution to Authorize Publication of Notice of Intent to Appoint Michael Whittle made a motion to approve the resolution authorizing publication of the Notice of Intent to Appoint. 

Marcus Belser seconded. Motion carried. 5-0 

Approval of Board Vacancy Candidate Application Process & Timeline Jared Funk made a motion to approve the application process for individuals interested in being considered for appointment to the vacant Board of Education position, with the appointment concluding in November 2029. Interested individuals will submit a letter of interest explaining why they are 

interested in serving on the Board and respond to the following three questions: 1. What do you see as the primary role of a school board member? 

2. What skills, experiences, or perspectives would you bring to the Board? 3. What do you view as the district's greatest strengths and biggest challenges? I further move to set Monday, October 12, at 8:00 a.m. as the deadline for submission of applications and to set a special Board meeting for October 15, 2026, at 6:00 pm for the purpose of interviewing or reviewing applicants.
