The Central School Board voted unanimously to begin the process of possibly terminating the contract of Superintendent Nick Trenkamp and to rescind action taken on an extension that was approved earlier. The move was made after comments Trenkamp posted on Social Media. The contract extension move rescinds action taken on February 17th to extend his contract for another year. The notice to consider termination of his contract was also approved unanimously. The Board cited unprofessional conduct, detrimental conduct to climate and culture, and negative impact on school and community trust. Trenkamp has been on administrative leave since March 30th in connection with comments he posted on Social Media. The incident involves comments made on Facebook. Trenkamp responded to a Facebook post stating that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy would ban big Pharma ads on TV. Trenkamp responded that "This would be awesome. Not only does Big Pharma peddle their drugs, they promote homosexuality and obesity." Trenkamp initially issued an apology stating the post misrepresents who he is as an educator. He then issued a second apology via Facebook in regards to the now deleted post.
