Clermont man charged with Assault and Obstruction Charges after report of a disturbance

On March 4, 2026, at 12:37PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of a disturbance in the 800 block of Spring Street in the City of Clermont. When Deputies arrived, they had received a report of a male fleeing the scene with a hammer, after damaging a vehicle and window at an apartment on Iowa Street. A search of the area was conducted, and the male was located and identified as 52-year-old Carteiz King of Clermont. After further investigation, King was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood flow, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Obstruction of Emergency Communications, a Serious Misdemeanor. King was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he will await his initial appearance. This incident is remains under investigation and further charges are pending.
