Delaware County Authorities release information on a number of incidents and two accidents

No injuries in an accident involving a riding lawn mower in Colesburg. Delaware Coumty Authorities report the accident happened on June 18th at 3:45pm. 59-year old Brenda Simons Patton of Colesburg was operating a 2026 John Deere X738 mower and entered Church Street and the view was obscured by shrubbery. The Patton mower collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer operated by 24-year old Rose Colleen Heuchelin of Colesburg. No injuries reported and damage totaled 25-hundred dollars.


An Earlville man escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident in Delaware County. The accident occurred on June 19th at 7:10pm. 23-year old Lucas Ray Richter was operating a 2017 Ram. Richter said he was accelerating onto Highway 20 then the pickup’s accelerator became stuck, causing the vehicle to rapidly gain speed. Richter stated he tried to apply the brakes, but the vehicle continued to accelerate. The vehicle entered the gravel shoulder, causing the front tires to dig into the gravel, causing the vehicle to roll onto its passenger side. Richter was not injured and damage totaled 45-thousand dollars.
