Delaware County Authorities release information on a number of recent arrest incidents

MEDIA RELEASE:

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at approximately 2:45 AM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Imla Alvarenga, 28, of Waterloo. Alvarenga was charged with Child Endangerment (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Driving While Barred (Aggravated Misdemeanor), and Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor). Alvarenga also received a citation for Failure to Use Child Restraint Device, Driving While License Suspended, and Speeding. This arrest was made following a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Dyersville.

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 2:00 AM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Celeste Nicole Gavin, 37, of Spragueville, Iowa. Gavin was charged with Providing False Identification Information (Simple Misdemeanor). Gavin additionally had an active arrest warrant out of Dubuque County. This arrest was made following a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Manchester.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 12:00 PM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Travis Sidney Yonkovic, 37, of Hopkinton, on an active mittimus warrant to serve jail time.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 10:10 PM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested April Joann Coonfare, 73, of Lamont. Coonfare was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor) and Possession of Controlled Substance Marijuana 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 38 and 150th Street.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at approximately 12:30 AM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Logan Dean Cavan, 31, of Oskaloosa. Cavan was charged with Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability (Misdemeanor Citation), Speeding 21 or over (Misdemeanor Citation), Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle (Misdemeanor Citation), Driving While License Suspended (Misdemeanor Citation), and Driving Under Suspension (Misdemeanor Citation). This arrest was made following a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 13 and 255th Street.

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, at approximately 1:15 PM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assisted the Manchester Police Department in the arrest of Jarrod Craig Hauk, 40, of La Porte City. Hauk had active Manchester Police Department arrest warrants for Willful Injury- Bodily Injury (Class D Felony), Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Contempt- Violation of a No Contact Order (Serious Misdemeanor), Disorderly Conduct- Fighting or Violent Behavior (Simple Misdemeanor), and Driving Under Suspension (Simple Misdemeanor). These charges stemmed from a report of a disturbance on March 28, 2026. Hauk also received additional charges from the Manchester Police Department. Those charges are Contempt- Violation of a No Contact Order (Simple Misdemeanor) and Driving Under Suspension (Simple Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a report of a disturbance in the city of Manchester. Hauk was later located and arrested at the Quik N’ Handi near Manchester.

MEDIA RELEASE:

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, at approximately 9:30 PM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Marc Eric Westerhuis, 54, of Dundee. Westerhuis was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor). This arrest was made during an active warrant check for Buchanan County at a residence near Dundee.

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, at approximately 7:00 AM, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Jeremiah Brian Cassman, 46, of Wellman. Cassman was charged with Driving While Suspended (Simple Misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Earlville.
