Delaware County Authorities release information on four separate accidents

Delaware County Authorities released information on three separate accidents.


On February 12th at 7:40pm, 32-year old Jacob Daniel Salisbury of Independence was operating a 2024 Grove Crane . Salisbury was backing onto the roadway on Highway 13. 70-year old Ronald Dean Weyant of Manchester was operating a 2024 Ford F-15 and failed to see the stop signs being used for the crane to back out. No injuries reported. Damage to the crane totaled 25-thousand and the Weyant vehicle sustained 10-thousand dollars in damage.


On February 14th at 2:41am, 53-year old Thaddeus Michael Moorman of Manchester was operating a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 13. Moorman observed a vehicle quickly approaching from behind and his vehicle was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by 21-year old Dillon Daniel McDonald of Monticello. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch. No injuries reported and damage totaled 20-thousand dollars. McDonald was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Speeding, and Failure to Maintain Control.


On February 15th at 11:59am an accident occurred on Highway 38 North. 30-year old Gunner Lee Vaske of Cedar Rapids was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and turning left from a BP Parking lot onto Highway 38. A 2012 Dodge Durango operated by 34-year old Tessa Mae Anderson of Delaware was traveling northbound. Vaske stated the Anderson vehicle had it’s right turn signal on, his vehicle entered the roadway and the vehicles collided. No injuries reported and Daylight and Sun may have been a factor in the accident. Damage totaled three-thousand dollars.


On February 16th at 7:33am, a second accident occurred on Highway 38 North. 20-year old Owen Michael Crudale of Poway, California was operating a 2013 Honda Pilot. Crudale turned right into the BP Gas Station Parking lot, realized the pumps were down and initiated a U-Turn. Crudale attempted to brake to avoid a collision but collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Impala operated by 58-year old Karla Jean Trenkamp of Dyersville. No injuries reported and damage totaled five-thousand dollars. Crudale was charged with making an improper turn.
