Fayette County Authorities release information on four arrest incidents.

On December 31, 2025, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office arrested Cody Lynn Williams, age 40 of Oelwein, on two valid Fayette County Warrants – Failure to Appear on a Theft 3rd Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor) and Failure to Appear on a Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor). Williams was transported to the Fayette County Jail and has a $1500 cash or surety bond on both warrants but awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 30, 2025, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office arrested Adam Wester Strand, age 41 of Decorah, on a Valid Fayette County warrant for Probation Violation– Serious Misdemeanor (Original charge: Voluntary Absence from Custody). Strand was transported to the Fayette County Jail and is being held on $1000 cash or surety bond until he receives an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
On December 27, 2025, at approximately 2:10pm, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls of a domestic disturbance alongside the roadway on R Avenue near 160th Street, approximately five miles south of Hawkeye. After further investigation, Marty Leroy Knight, age 67 of Blue River, WI, was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault (Simple Misdemeanor). Knight was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaits an initial appearance.
On December 27th, 2025, at approximately 6:18pm, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado nearly struck a Fayette County Deputy’s Patrol vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 150 N and W Water St. in Fayette. An investigation was conducted and subsequently, Nancy Lynn Harkin (age 47) of Arlington was placed under arrest for a Operating While under the Influence 1st Offense, a serious misdemeanor. Nancy was transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was held for her initial appearance. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this incident by the Fayette Police Department and Fayette County Communications.
