Grant County Authorities release information on three separate accidents, two involving injuries

3 Vehicle Crash with Injuries
On May 21, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a crash that took place on Highway 151 near the intersection of Airport Road., in Jamestown township.
The Grant County Highway Department was actively repairing the roadway in the northbound lanes. County highway workers were working in front of a Highway Department truck and trailer that was acting as a protective barrier from oncoming traffic.
As workers were repairing the roadway, a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, being driven by Lilyan Gruntorad, 19, (DeWitte, IA) crashed into the rear of a highway department truck at speeds estimated to be 70 + mph.
After the impact, the Equinox crossed into the northbound passing lane and struck a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, being driven by Teresa Pluemer, 63, (Platteville).
As a result of the crash, Gruntorad and Pleumer were transported to Southwest Health Center by Dickeyville EMS & Southwest Health EMS. No highway workers were injured in the crash.
Gruntorad was cited for inattentive driving and Fail to Slow Vehicle while Passing Stopped Emergency/Roadside Vehicle.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Jamestown 1st Responders, Dickeyville EMS, Jamestown Fire Department, Dickeyville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, Precision Automotive (Platteville), and Donnies Tire and Tow (Dickeyville) .
Single Vehicle Crash - Minor Injuries
On May 22, 2026, at approximately 12:39am, a Grant County Sheriff's Deputy responded to a crash detection alert near 2970 CTH A, east of Lancaster, in Ellenboro Township. First Responders from the Platteville Fire Department and Southwest Health Center were dispatched to the scene.
When the Deputy arrived on scene, he learned Kaelyn Baker(20), of Mineral Point was traveling eastbound on County A when she swerved to avoid striking a deer. Baker's vehicle the entered the ditch and struck an embankment.
Baker was wearing her seatbelt, but was transported to Southwest Health Center in Platteville Wisconsin for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

Two Vehicle Crash - No Injury
On May 22nd, at approximately 7:56am, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 35, south of Hying Road in Patch Grove Township.
When deputies arrived on scene, they learned Adam Mergen, age 41, of Bloomington, was operating his 2022 Ram 2500 truck northbound on Highway 35. Mergen was stopped in the lane of traffic waiting for southbound traffic to clear so he could turn left into a driveway. At the same time, Katrina Perkins, 33, of Cassville, who was also traveling northbound in a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country van. Perkins did not immediately notice Mergen stopped in the road in front of her. By the time Perkins noticed the truck, it was too late for her to get stopped, and Perkins' van struck the rear of Mergen's truck.
Perkins' van sustained disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. Mergen's Ram sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
All involved were wearing seatbelts and not injured.
Perkins was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Proof of Insurance.
B&M Auto and Towing out of Bloomington assisted at the scene.
