On April 21, 2026, at 4:40 PM, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash with possible injuries, at the intersection of Highway 61 & 129 at the north end, in the Town of North Lancaster. Grant County Deputies, Lancaster Police, and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they learned Craig Edge, 54, of Fennimore, had been driving northbound on Highway 61, in his 2023 Chevrolet Blazer. At the same time, Aurora Fritz, 19, of Lancaster, was southbound on Highway 61, in her 2007 Chevrolet Impala. As both vehicles approached the intersection with Highway 129, Fritz attempted a left turn onto Highway 129, in front of Edge's vehicle, causing a collision.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and airbags deployed in both vehicles. Edge was transported to a local hospital for treatment of reported injuries. Fritz denied EMS transport. Both vehicles suffered severe damage and had to be towed from the scene.

As a result of the collision, Fritz was cited for Fail to Yield Right of Way While Making a Left Turn.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Lancaster Police Department, Lancaster EMS, the Lancaster Fire Department, Bennett's Towing, and Arrow Towing, both of Lancaster.
