Hawkeye man arrested Felon charges and a Waterloo man arested on warrant

On June 21st, 2026  at approximately 12:22 am a Fayette County Sheriff's Office Deputy arrested 64-year-old Scott Zell of Hawkeye, Iowa. This was for an arrest warrant on a charge of Dominion / Control of Firearm / Offensive Weapon by Felon, a Class D Felony.  Zell was transported to the Fayette County jail and held for an initial appearance.

On June 19, 2026, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Scott Deitrick Overmann, age 47 of Waterloo, on a valid Fayette County Warrant for Probation Violation (Original charge: Theft 3^rd Degree – Aggravated Misdemeanor). Overmann was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held on a $5000 cash or surety bond and awaits an initial appearance from the Magistrate Judge. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.
