July 24th Scores--Magical Postseason Run for Ed-Co Softball Comes to an End in 1-A Title Game

Clarksville won their second consecutive Class 1-A Softball Title with a 5-2 win over Ed-Co. The Indians started a rally with two outs in the fourth to take the lead. Eve Jordan hit a two-run homer to put them up 4-2 as they sent eight to the plate in the inning. Cate Lodge had two doubles and scored two runs. Regen Wedeking singled in a run. Hannah Wangsness and Gia Hoodjer reach doubled in a run. The Indians totaled seven hits, five of them for extra bases. For Ed-Co, Faith Dugan had three of the Vikings eight hits, including a home run to lead off the third to give them a 2-1 lead. Rachel Eglseder singled in a run. McKenna Hoefer had two hits and Addi Schmelzer and Chloe Everitt added singles. Clarksville finishes the season 28 and 8. The Vikings close the season at 30 and 11. Faith Dugan, Addi Schmelzer, and Rachel Eglseder were named to the Class 1-A All-Tourney Team.
