On May 13, 2025, the Mar-Mac Police Department, in coordination with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole (WI DOC), identified the residence of two fugitives, one wanted on active misdemeanor and felony arrest warrants issued by Iowa and Wisconsin, and another on an individual with a misdemeanor arrest warrant issued by Wisconsin. Both with nationwide extradition requests in effect.
Earlier this year, the WI DOC notified the Mar-Mac Police Department that one of the wanted fugitives was reportedly residing at an unknown location within the downtown district of McGregor, Iowa.
Through the course of an ongoing investigation, officers developed credible information indicating a possible address for Jesse Joseph Lutz, who has active misdemeanor and felony arrest warrants issued by Iowa and Wisconsin
At approximately 4:46 p.m. on May 13, a Mar-Mac Police Officer observed a male matching the physical description of Jesse Joseph Lutz standing in front of a parked vehicle. Upon noticing the officer, the male fled into a nearby apartment building.
Officers contacted the property owner, who confirmed that Jesse Joseph Lutz resides in the building. The owner granted consent to search the first-floor apartment, which was found unoccupied. During the search, officers discovered a rear entrance beneath a stairwell that led to the outside.
With the property owner’s verbal consent, officers breached the exterior rear door to access the common hallway on the second floor. Following judicial authorization of a search warrant, officers made multiple attempts to communicate with the occupant(s) of the apartment identified as the residence of Jesse Joseph Lutz. After receiving no response, officers breached the apartment. The unit was found unoccupied.
No arrests were made during the operation. The investigation remains active.
The Mar-Mac Police Department continues to work closely with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and surrounding law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend Jesse Joseph Lutz. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Mar-Mac Police Department at (563) 873-2500 or their local law enforcement agency.
