Oelwein Police release information on four separate arrest incidents

At 3:20pm on May 19, 2026, Oelwein Police arrested Paul Michael Kinch, 20, of Oelwein. Kinch was arrested on two Fayette County warrants, the first one for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor, and the second one for three counts of Invasion of Privacy - Aggravated Misdemeanor.
On May 15, 2026, at 3:45 am, Oelwein Officers took a report of an unwanted subject at their residence and were refusing to leave. As a result of their investigation, Oelwein Officers arrested Tanner Alan Steggall, 24, of Oelwein on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine – aggravated Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple Misdemeanor and Providing False Identification – Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest took place in the 800 block of 1st Ave Sw.
At 6:54pm, Oelwein Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of 10th St Se. As a result of the traffic stop, Randy Lee Hartson, 27, of Cedar Rapids was issued a Summons to Appear for Driving While Suspended – Serious Misdemeanor.
On May 18, 2026, at 10:52 pm, Oelwein Officers made a traffic stop in the 10 block of West Charles. As a result of the traffic stop, Dennis Lee Weaver, 79, was issued a Summons to Appear for Driving While Suspended – Serious Misdemeanor.
