Postville Man Injured in Stabbing Incident

On 9/28/2026 at 11:23 p.m., the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from  an individual in Postville, Iowa stating that he needed a police officer.  

A Postville Police Officer responded to the location of the caller near the Postville Police  Department and discovered that the individual had been stabbed and required immediate  medical attention.  

Jose Hernandez Marroquinn (age 28 of Postville, Iowa) was transported by ambulance to  Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon and later transferred by air ambulance to  Gunderson Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Hernandez Marroquinn’s condition is not  being released at this time. 

Assisting at the scene was the Postville Police Department, Allamakee County Sheriff’s  Office, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, Monona Police Department and Mar-Mac Police  Department. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Postville Police Department and Allamakee  County Sheriff’s Office. 

Law enforcement believes this to be an isolated incident and appears there is no danger to  the public.
