Six People Receive Minor Injuries in Three-Vehicle Accident in Crawford County

TOWN OF CLAYTON, WIS. - On Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of US Highway 61 and County Highway X.
Heather Alexander, 46, of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, was operating a 2015 Dodge Durango westbound on County Highway X. Alexander attempted to cross US Highway 61 to continue westbound on County Highway X when her vehicle collided with the driver’s side of a southbound 2018 Dodge ProMaster cargo van operated by Jesse Johnson, 36, of Onalaska, Wisconsin.
Following the initial collision, Johnson’s van overturned, entered the northbound lane of US Highway 61, and collided with the driver’s side of a northbound 2023 Ford F-150 operated by Michael Schnoebelen, 73, of Moline, Illinois. After striking the pickup truck, the van traveled into the ditch and came to rest on its passenger side.
Alexander and her passenger escaped without injury, Johnson and his passenger sustained minor injuries, and Schnoebelen and his four passenger’s were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The vehicles sustained significant damage, and two were towed from the scene.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Soldiers Grove Fire Department, North Crawford Rescue, Ocooch Mountain Rescue, Crawford County Highway Department, Sleepy Hollow Towing Service, and Goldbeck’s Towing Service
