Two People Seriously Injured in Dubuque County, Names are Released

On August 14, 2026 at approximately 0437 hours, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, along with Farley Fire and EMS, responded to 1st Street South, under the Highway 20 overpass bridges for the report of a, single vehicle, motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Deputies and first responders located Gabriel E. Rodriguez Pina (11-30-1984), of Bloomingdale, Illinois and Gaurav Karwal (11-3-1984), of Cedar Falls, Iowa inside of the vehicle. Both occupants were found to have serious injuries and were transported to MercyOne Dubuque by Farley Fire and EMS. Rodriguez Pina was transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics a short time late.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing
