Two Oelwein men face drug charges after report of a suspicious vehicle

On March 28th, 2026, at approximately 12:43 AM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Corner Market Greenhouse. The vehicle was located and an investigation led to the arrest of 52-year-old Gary Cummings of Oelwein and 53 year old Bryon Manske of rural Oelwein. Manske was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance – 3rd or Subseq Offense Methamphetamine a Class D Felony as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. Cummings was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance – 1st Offense Methamphetamine, a Serious Misdemeanor, as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. They were transported to the Fayette County Jail for an initial appearance.
