West Union City Council met February 2 2026, at 6:00 P.M. in Council Chambers with Mayor Kent Halverson presiding. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Attendance Present: Becthold, Gumm, McElree, and Tope. Absent: DeBack.

Approval of the Motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Tope, seconded by

Agenda Gumm. All Aye. Carried.

Approval of Motion to approve the January 19, 2026, Regular Council Meeting minutes as

Minutes presented was made by Gumm, seconded by Becthold. All Aye. Carried.

Approval of Chicken Motion to approve the Permit for Urban Chickens for 104 N Oak St was made by

Permits Becthold, seconded by McElree. All Aye. Carried.

Motion to approve the Permit for Urban Chickens for 115 N Wells St was made by Becthold, seconded by Tope. All Aye. Carried.

Motion to approve the Permit for Urban Chickens for 113 N Wells St was made by Becthold, seconded by McElree. All Aye. Carried.

Discuss City Motion to table any decisions made pertaining to the City (Chamber) vehicle was

(Chamber) Vehicle made by Tope, seconded by McElree. All Aye. Carried.

Approval of Mayoral Motion to approve the Mayoral Council Committee Appointments as presented

Committee was made by Tope, seconded by McElree. All Aye. Carried.

Appointments

Discuss FY27 Budget Administrator Wallis will plan a FY27 Budget Work Session for the week of

Work Session February 16^th.

Discuss Ordinance After some discussion, Council agreed to schedule an Ordinance Enforcement

Enforcement Work Session. Wallis will gather information and set a date.

Discuss Water Quality After some discussion, motion to not apply for the Water Quality Initiative Grant

Initiative Grant was made by Gumm, seconded by Tope. All Aye. Carried.

Next Council Next regular council meeting will be February 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in

Meeting Council Chambers.
