Council Chambers, City Hall, January 5, 2026, at 6:00 P.M.

West Union City Council met January 5 2026, at 6:00 P.M. in Council Chambers with Mayor Cameron Granger presiding. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.


Attendance Present: Becthold, DeBack, Gumm, McElree, and Tope.


Approval of the Motion to approve the agenda, moving #6 Consider Volunteers for Ward 2 City

Agenda Council Appointment to #2 and moving all other items down was made by DeBack, seconded by Tope. All Aye. Carried.


Approval of Ward 2 residents Heather Becthold, Ray Harford, and LeVirgil Monroe were

Appointment of present and expressed interest in filling the vacant seat left by former Council

Heather Becthold as Member Martin Miller. After some discussion, motion to appoint Heather

Ward 2 City Council Becthold to the Ward 2 City Council Seat was made by Tope, seconded by

Member DeBack. All Aye. Carried.


Approval of Motion to approve the December 15, 2025, Regular Council Meeting minutes as

Minutes presented was made by Tope, seconded by Gumm. All Aye. Carried.


Discuss Downtown Jon Biederman shared that the Downtown Permeable Paver Sidewalk WQI pre-

Permeable Paver application was approved. Biederman and Administrator Wallis will bring more

Sidewalk WQI information to the next meeting on application requirements, costs, etc.

Approval of PPE#11 Motion to approve payment of PPE#11 totaling $15,000.00 to Baker Enterprises,

From Baker Inc for Linden Street Improvement Project was made by Gumm, seconded by

Enterprises for Linden Tope. All Aye. Carried.

Annual Report Review Fire Chief Rory Starks shared the Annual Report from the West Union Fire

From WUFD Department that included budget proposals for FY2027, FY26 expenses, events, fire call numbers, and training updates.


Comments and Council Member Gumm stressed the importance of keeping up with the sidewalk

Discussion snow shoveling ordinance.


Next Council Next regular council meeting will be January 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in

Meeting Council Chambers.


Adjourn With no further business to bring before the Council, a motion was made by

                                     DeBack, seconded by Gumm, to adjourn. All Aye. Carried.
