On June 29th, 2026, at approximately 7:18 p.m., a Garnavillo police officer on routine patrol in the 500 block of South Monroe Street observed a male subject operating a motor vehicle who the officer knew to have a suspended driver’s license. It should be noted that this subject had previously been stopped about his suspended license, was issued a citation in lieu of arrest, and was told not to drive again barely a week prior to this incident. John Whitesell, 35, of Garnavillo, was arrested by the Garnavillo Police Department and transported to the Clayton County Jail to be held for initial appearance on the charge of Driving While License Suspended.
