On September 2nd, 2024, At approximately 5:22pm a Fayette County Deputy initiated a traffic stop in the city of Arlington. It was learned that the driver Rodney Dean Cornwell 60 of Arlington was suspended from driving. Cornwell was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he will have his initial appearance.
On August 31st, 2024, at approximately 9:17pm, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a possible assault that occurred on 35th St. (highway 3) east of Oelwein. Upon investigation Deputies arrested Randy Gene Johnson 64 of Oelwein. Randy Johnson has been charged with Assault with intent to inflict serious injury and Child Endangerment. Deputies also arrested Brandi Joanne Johnson 28 of Oelwein. Brandi Johnson has been charged with Child Endangerment. Both suspects were transported to the Fayette County Jail where they awaited for their initial appearances. Brandi Johnson has since been released on a Promise to appear and Randy Johnson has a bail of $2,000 bond allowed to post 10 percent. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Oelwein Police Department and the Department of Health and Human Services. This is still an on-going investigation. (photo)
On August 26th, 2024, at approximately 4:00pm a Fayette County Deputy arrested Bradley James Normann 24 of Tripoli for two outstanding warrants. Normann had two warrants for Violation of Probation. Normann was transported to the Fayette County Jail and later posted bond and was released from custody.
On August 16th, 2024, at approximately 9:24pm, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle accident at TJ’s Pizza in Clermont. Upon further investigation Bruce Allen Butikofer 61 of Clermont was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 1st offense. Butikofer was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he had his initial appearance and later bonded out.
On August 29, 2024, at approximately 4:41am, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch in the 5000 block of N Avenue, approximately 3 miles northeast of Oelwein. After further investigation, it was determined that Ryan Andrew Kennon, age 36 of Maynard, was driving south bound in a Blue 2018 Ford F150 Supercrew truck when he entered the east bound ditch. Kennon was found to be intoxicated. Kennon was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor), Failure to Maintain Control (Simple Misdemeanor) and Open Container (Simple Misdemeanor). Kennon was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.
On August 28, 2024, at approximately 9:32pm, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of a domestic disturbance at Twin Bridges Park, approximately two miles north of Maynard. After further investigation, Brady John Jarchow, age 27 of Hazleton, was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault (Simple Misdemeanor) and Assault (Simple Misdemeanor). Jarchow was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.
