Prairie du Chien City Council accepts bid for the Public Safety Center Project
The Prairie du Chien City Council accepted a 10.1-million dollar bid for the Public Safety Center Project. The city received a federal grant totaling 4.95-million for the project. The city will borrow funds for the remaining cost of the project in June with work expected to start in August. Manchester man found guilty of 1979 Cedar Rapids Murder appealing verdict

Two people from Illinois face charges after theft of catalytic converter in Manchester
At 12:03 Hours on May 5th, 2026, Manchester Police were contacted about a suspicious pair near a commercial vehicle near Corcoran Furniture. A Quasqueton man escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident in Delaware County. 69-year old Larry Dean Hicks was operating a 2013 Dodge Journey on 145th Avenue on May 2nd at 11:34am. Clayton County Board of Supervisors approve the County Budget
The Clayton County Board of Supervisors approved the County Budget for 26-27. The budget totals 30.2-million dollars. The tax rate is nearly the same as the current rate of $6.89-for Urban residents and $10.16 for Rural. The Supervisors approved rock bids for the county roads.
