(Decorah, IA) -- A man accused of lacing a lasagna and giving it to a pregnant woman is pleading guilty. Prosecutors say Matthew Uthoff and Amber Snow, his wife, laced the food with oxycodone and gave it to the woman in December. Investigators say they were trying to get the woman to miscarry. Uthoff and Snow were facing charges including controlled substance violation, attempted nonconsensual termination of pregnancy and child endangerment. Snow pleaded guilty in May and was

(Des Moines, IA) -- Swimming is not recommended at three eastern Iowa beaches, ahead of the holiday weekend. The Department of Natural Resources says it's issuing swimming advisories at the beaches due to elevated E. coli levels. The beaches are Backbone Beach in Delaware County, Pleasant Creek Beach in Linn County and Lake Darling Beach in Washington County. The advisories don't close the beaches, but officials strongly discourage swimming due to health risks.

The West Union City Council has appointed Nichlas McIntyre as Interim City Administrator/City Clerk. McIntyre is a former City Administrator in West Union and served in an interim capacity last year. A Strawberry Point man was injured in a motorcycle accident in Clayton County. 48-year old Chip James Schuldt was injured in the accident. The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident happened on June 25th at 3:46pm on Grandview Road east of Grandview Lane.
