Two-Vehicle Crash
A Ridgeway teen faces charges after not making a complete stop at a stop sign in Decorah. The Winneshiek Sheriff's Office says it happened on Tuesday, June 16th as the 16 year old entered Highway 52 from Pulpiy Rock after failing to yield. Fayette Co Parole Violation
On June 18, 2026, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office arrested Kelly Adam Lohrer, age 42 of Oelwein, of a valid Fayette County Warrant for Parole Violation. Lohrer was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held without bond and awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge. The damage survey team from the National Weather Service in La Crosse has preliminarily confirmed an EF-2 tornado in Allamakee County Wednesday afternoon, June 17th. Fayette County OWI Arrest
On June 16th, 2026, at approximately 5:10 PM a Fayette County Deputy was notified of suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of Center Street, in Elgin. Upon Deputy arrival, it was determined that Spencer Paul Spain, 32 of Elgin was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. An investigation was conducted, and Spain was arrested and charged with OWI 1st Offense. Spencer was transported to the Fayette County jail where he was held for his initial appearance.

Winneshiek County Authorities release information on injury accident and two arrest incidents
A Minnesota man was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 51-year old Aaron Paul Porvaznik of Woodbuy, Minnesota was injured in the accident. Authorities report the accident happened on June 13th at 12:50pm on County Road A-15. 28-year old Dylan Mike Mueller of Manley was operating a 2021 Chevrolet K3500. The Monona City Council approved the issuance of one-million dollars in General Obligation Bonds. Funds will be used for the Center Street Improvement Project and will be paid back over a 10-year period.
